Cabell Gorman presents a selection of artwork in loving memory of her son Patrick, who the artist says taught her to paint. After Patrick’s death in 2010, Cabell, paint brushes in hand, began a therapeutic journey to help cope with the devastating loss and her will to honor her son’s legacy. Cabell’s unique journey generated a celebrated collection of oil paintings that will be on display for a month at the Stewart Gallery in Richmond beginning October 9.
The collection of art planned for display will include her most recent portrait featuring a homeless dog awaiting an adoptive home at Richmond Animal Care & Control (RAC&C), the City of Richmond Animal Shelter. A portion of proceeds from the sale of paintings on exhibit will be donated to the nonprofit organization Friends of Richmond Animal Care & Control, to support the adoption of pets at RAC&C.
