USO of Hampton Roads/Central Virginia invites all school-age children to help decorate the walls of the USO centers at Richmond International Airport and Ft. Lee during April, the Month of the Military Child.
The USO of Hampton Roads/Central Virginia is a non-profit organization providing a place for military personnel and military families to go while traveling or stationed at various bases all over the world.
Contest Rules:
- The contest is open to all school-age children: public, private, and home schooled students in elementary, middle, and high school grades
- Winners will be chosen based on entries received
- Winners will be notified through their school by April 13, 2012
- All entries must:
- be patriotic and show a positive image of the military, the USO of Hampton Roads/Central Virginia logo (as above), any branch of service or military families
- measure a minimum of 8”X10” and maximum of 12”X12”
- be original artwork created by the entrant
- have the student’s age and signature in the bottom right corner on front of artwork
- have the entrant’s name, age and school clearly written on back of the artwork
- Entries submitted without contact information will not be considered
- Entries must be received at one of the following locations no later than March 30, 2012

- In person at: the USO Center at Richmond International Airport or Ft. Lee
- Upon notification of winning, the winner’s parent or guardian must sign a photo/art release
- All art work becomes property of USO of Hampton Roads/Central Virginia
Capital One will host an unveiling reception for contest winners on April 23, 2012. Wallpaper created from the winning art work will be displayed at Richmond International Airport and Ft. Lee which is part of USO of Hampton Roads/Central Virginia. Additional artwork not chosen for the Hampton Roads/Central Virginia USO may be displayed at Applebee’s in the Richmond International Airport or at Capital One offices.
