
Alpaca Pastures of Virginia is currently scheduling Educational Farm Tour and Fiber Workshops at their farm in Beaverdam, VA!!
During the educational tour you will learn about the Alpacas
- Walk to the barn to visit the Alpacas to find out how we care for our alpacas.
- You will learn about the history of the alpacas, where they are from, and when they came to the United States.
- You will see how our Alpaca fleece is processed into yarn and products
- Everyone can “Touch” the Alpaca’s fiber and products made from Alpaca.
Participate in a Fiber Workshop and make a craft out of Alpaca Fiber:
- Learn Wet Felting and craft a felted Necklace, Bracelet, or Cat Toy.
- Make a Refrigerator Magnet shaped like an Alpaca.
- Younger Kids can color an Alpaca related Activity Work Sheet.
The Alpaca Tours and Workshops are great for a School Field Trip, Girl or Boy Scout Troop, Homeschool Group, Day Care Class, or Birthday Party.

Alpaca Pastures of Virginia is located in Beaverdam VA in western Hanover County.
Alpaca Pastures of Virginia opened in February 2006
- It is owned and operated by Patrick and Sherry McEvoy in Beaverdam VA
- We are a full service alpaca farm and currently have 22 Alpacas on our farm (14 girls & 8 boys)
- We’ve had 22 births on our farm – a baby alpaca is called a Cria
- We offer Educational Farm Tours and Fiber Workshops to groups and individuals during the week and on Saturday.
- Products made from our alpacas include: Yarn spun at a mill in the USA, Roving, Wet Felting Craft Kits, and our “Coat on a Goat” TM
- Our products are sold during our Open House, at our Online Store, and at local Festivals.
- We host and conduct Alpaca Basics and Wet Felting seminars during the year.
- We offer mentoring to our clients when they purchase an alpaca from us so they will be successful in raising their own alpacas.
